Orders

The article describes how Ellity works with orders and loyalty points. Customers earn points after marking an order as paid in Shoptet. When editing items without redemption, the points will be automatically recalculated; when redemption is made, a new order must be created. Points will be deducted on cancellation and refunded on redemption. The system distinguishes discount coupons by prefix and allows easy identification.

This article will explain how to work with orders within Ellity. When points are credited, what happens when you cancel an order, etc.

When are points credited?

Points are credited to the customer as soon as the order is marked as paid. In Shoptet, you go to the order and mark it as paid. Shoptet also allows you to set the order to be marked as paid automatically when you move to a certain status.

Adding or changing order items

If the order does not include a drawdown from your account, it is possible to amend the order based on your processing. If you modify order items, the points the customer earned for that purchase will be recalculated after the order is saved.

If the order contains a drawdown and you make a change to the items, then the discount drawn cannot be recalculated and the customer would therefore draw the wrong discount. In this case we recommend two options:

  • create a new order for new items
  • cancel the current order and create it again with new items.

If the customer is registered, you can also create an order for them. In Shoptet, you just need to log in as a customer directly from the administration portal of your e-shop.

What happens to the points if I cancel my order?

Any points earned by the customer by paying for the order will be deducted from the account after the order is cancelled.

If the order has been redeemed by the customer, the points will be refunded to the customer's account.

Can I cancel a drawdown on an order?

Yes, just remove the discount coupon on the order that is related to the drawdown. The redeemed points will be returned to the customer's account.

As the total amount of the order will change, the points earned for this order will be recalculated at the same time.

Is it possible to differentiate the discount coupons generated by the system?

If you use discount coupons separately on your e-shop, it is not obvious at first glance from the order whether it is a bonus system or a regular discount coupon.

But this has a solution too. If you create a discount coupon for your customers, choose a prefix in the coupon code (e.g. KUPxxxx). Then you can immediately tell on the order whether it is a redemption from the customer's bonus account or a regular coupon.A discount coupon cannot be combined with a redemption, so the order cannot contain both a redemption and a discount coupon.

If you need to know the orders that have a drawdown, let our support know, we have another solution where we generate the information in the note for you, which you will see in the Shoptet backoffice.
